Gospel Musician, Sonnie Badu believes there is too much pressure and attention on Ghanaian player and West Ham midfielder Mohammed Kudus.
He said Kudus wearing the number 10 jersey has worsened his situation as all eyes are on him to score for the Black Stars.
Speaking on Asempah FM, Sonnie Badu stated that the number 10 should not be taken for granted because there is a spirit behind it and anybody who wears that number must increase his performance.
“In the past everybody was familiar with the Black Stars players but today a lot of people don’t know them so it is like let us see how they can perform. And I think there is a lot of pressure and attention on Kudus and he needs a personal psychologist around him, Because you see, he has been given the number 10 jersey. We need to brief him about the history of number 10. Abedi Pele, Stephen Appiah, Dede Ayew.” He said.
According to the Ghanaian gospel musician, Mohammed Kudus can occupy that position but this is not the right time for him.
He suggested that Kudus should stay humble and walk through the ranks before he can achieve his aim for the Black Stars.
“The number 10 jersey should not be taken for granted, you have to add an extra factor, due to his ability and performance in the previous World Cup and AFCON people think he is the man at the moment. I think Kudus can do it but is it time for him? No. I don’t think it is time for that so it has put too much pressure on him. Whenever he gets the ball the expectation is that he has to score, no. He needs to cooperate with the players and stay humble. He needs to walk through the ranks because the Number 10 jersey has a spirit and people must be scared of you.” Sonnie Badu stated.
