Eric Adjei, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy Director of Communications for the Bono Region has described the Vice president of the Republic of Ghana and the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as “susu box” when it comes to governance.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia who was accusing the NDC of economic mismanagement and claiming to know all the financial problems in the country as an economist in opposition but he has lost all the ideas when he came to power.

He said the NPP flagbearer has proven to be incompetent as a vice president and therefore doesn’t need to be given the mandate as a president.

Speaking on United Television (UTV) monitored by Elvisanokyenews.com, Eric Adjei stated that the current economic hardship needs  an experienced person like former president John Dramani Mhama not an empty person like Dr. Bawumia.

“We gave someone (NPP) 8 years in power and they have spent 7 years, When they were campaigning for political power, they made Ghanaians understood that the vice president is good at economics who knows how to manage the economy well, today, Alhaji Bawumia is like susu box, he is empty. They don’t have any idea on how to manage the economy to give a standard of living to the citizens. Where we have gotten to, the experience matters, the track records and legacy of former president Mahama is what we are going to continue” He stated.

Ghanaians are gearing up to elect president and parliamentarians on 7th December, 2024.

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has presented Vice president Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as their flagbearer while the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has also presented former President John Dramani Mahama as their flagbearer.

Comparing the two flagbearers, Eric Adjei indicated that the NDC has a formidable front and leader who can win the election.

“For us we have formidable front and our leader presented as the flagbearer has experienced in Ghana’s politics, his track records during his four years as a president shows that if Ghanaians give him another four years, he will do better” He indicated.

Highlighting some achievements and legacies of the former president, the Deputy Director of Communications mentioned Ridge hospital, University of Ghana Medical Centre LTD (UGMC) and infrastructures.

“Yesterday somebody asked me that when former president John Dramani come to power what is he going to do in his four years in power and I said, during his past regime he spent only four years not eight but within the four years in power, he was able to built Ridge Hospital, University of Ghana Medical Centre LTD (UGMC), the big projects across the country were constructed within the same four years” He said.

Former President John Dramani Mahama is currently embarking on “Building the Ghana we want together” tour to intestify his campaign ahead of the general elections.

Addressing the people of Hohoe in the Volta Region, Mr. Mahama said he is measured in his promises due to the state of our economy.

“I will plead with the Teachers Union, Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), The Teachers’ and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU) and all of them, I know all of them are crumbling for allowances, increasing in allowances and so on and so forth, Lets me caution you that in 2025, Insha Allah after we will take over, we will show you the book and the finances of this country and you will realize the harm that the NPP administration has done to Ghana’s economy.” He said.

“This country is broke and so we will beg you that when we come to the office, give us a bit of a honey mood, let’s put things in place so that we can bring the economy back on its feet and when we have done that we can see to your demands again. And that is why I am being measured in the promises that I make because we all know the crisis in which this country has been plunged in” Mr. Mahama Assured.
