Hon. Kofi Amankwa-Manu. Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma has questioned the idea behind the attacks on former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by his contestants.
The former Minister lamented the sudden change of mind of the four (4) aspirants who were campaigning for Dr. Bawumia during the 2024 elections.
He said presidential aspirants, Ken Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong’s attack Dr. Bawumia in the flagbearership race exposes their hypocrites.
“Let me tell you something and this is very hypocritical. Just a couple of months ago, all the presidential aspirants saw the good things in Dr. Bawumia so what changed? We went to an election and lost, is that what we have not seen before? And suddenly Dr. Bawumia has become the biggest evil that we have ever seen? I don’t accept it.” He lamented.
Speaking in an interview, Hon. Kofi Amankwa-Manu stated that all the five (5) aspirants are good candidates to lead the NPP but currently, Dr. Bawumia is on top of them.
“If you do that to me it means you are not truthful, because a few months ago you said good things about the man and now you are saying different things, I don’t believe it. And I tell you, all the aspirants are fine gentlemen, I have worked with some at National Security, I have been in Parliament with some and have slept in the same room with some before, they are all gentlemen but at is stands now I believe that Dr. Bawumia stands taller than them.” He stated.
