Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen and the Nigeria national team, Victor Okoh Boniface has explained that jumping into Kudus’ celebration after scoring against West Ham United in the Europa League was not a planned thing.
He said it just happened after scoring against the club.
According to him, the two countries, Ghana and Nigeria are brothers and they do things together.
“To be honest I’ve seen so many comments on Instagram about it. It just happened in the moment, it wasn’t planned. Of course not, we (Nigerians) and Ghanaians, we are brothers, we need to cook each other, it is a normal thing” Vitor Boniface explained.
After the footballer’s explanation, supporters from both countries have reacted to the news.
Some asserted indeed Ghana and Nigeria are the same people.
“I’m a Nigerian, we have always seen Ghanaians as a close rival. We do some funny things and say things for the fun of it. And not hatred in the real sense. God bless NIGERIA, God bless Ghana, God bless Africa”
Others also believe that the celebration is not for Kudus because some legends like Christiano Ronaldo have done it before.
“How could this celebration be his celebration when big legends like CR7 have done it repeatedly before Kudus was even not a that fame professional footballer? Befica do it as you wish my friend let me see who opens his mouth to condemn it..”
