Ghanaian Media personality, Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay has revealed hidden character of some people in the society.

She said the discouraging character can be found in families and friendships.

She understands the love and treatment people give to others when they make money is different from when someone doesn’t have money.

According to her, money brings fake love and unusual respect. Though the entrepreneur, television and radio show host didn’t explain the reason behind her comments but in a Facebook post, Delay stated that “Money will bring you more fake love and unusual respect.”

Adding that a lot of people have been given some titles and different names after they made money in their families.

“If you’re broke, your family and friends will treat you like a nobody. Make some money and see, they’ll change your name to Chairman and Executive Chairperson!” She wrote.

She stressed that people who have been rejected because of their present situation will be welcomed when they make money.

“The people who threw you out will welcome you in when you make money.” Delay said.

Explaining the diverse treatment people go through, the public speaker and Women’s Advocate in Ghana indicated that people welcome rich men to dry jokes and laugh but accuse poor men of making unnecessary noise when they crack funny jokes.

“When a rich man cracks a dry joke, people laugh. When a poor man cracks a funny joke, people say he’s making unnecessary noise.” She asserted.

“Poverty is a killer!!!!” Delay emphasized.

Delay started her broadcasting career as a Presenter with Life FM in Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region of Ghana at the age of 17 in 1999. Delay later moved to Top Radio in 2005 in the capital, Accra where she worked until 2007. Taking over the mid-morning show on that station. She was later hired by the newly established Oman FM in 2007, she stayed here until 2016.

Whilst she was working with Oman FM, Delay started her own television program, the Delay Show in 2008 on TV3.
