The Head Coach of United States (US) Soccer and our Men’s National Team, Gregg Berhalter has been relieved of his duties following their Copa America group-stage exit.
United States Soccer Federation sporting director Matt Crocker expressed their gratitude to Gregg for his commitment the past five years to the men’s national team and to US soccer.
According to him, Gregg has earned the respect of everyone within the organisation and has played a crucial role in bringing together a young team and moving the program forward.
Matt Crocker on behalf of US wished Gregg all the best in his future endeavors. He said they know Gregg will find success in his next coaching position due to his commitment and capabilities..
For her part, United States President for Soccer, Cindy Parlow Cone thanked Gregg for his hard work and dedication to U.S. Soccer and our Men’s National Team during his tenure.
According to her, their focus now is working with the Sporting Director Matt Crocker and leveraging his experience at the highest levels of the sport to ensure that they find the right person to lead the U.S. Men’s National Team into a new era of on-field success.
USA was eliminated from the Copa America in the group stage after defeats to Panama and Uruguay.
According to a report, this is the first time in history a Copa America host nation has been knocked out in the first round.
