The Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Samira Bawumia has commended Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, the Lady who embarked on 126 hours, 52 minutes sing – a – thon marathon.
The wife of the Vice President of Ghana stated that the journey of Afua has made the excellence of the Ghanaian woman beautifully displayed.
According to her, she is deeply inspired by Afua’s resilience, strength, and determination to break the Guinness World Record of longest singing marathon by an individual.
Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has finished her journey with 126 hours, 52 minutes.
The six days journey of Afua started from December 24, at the Akwaaba Village in Accra.
In a post on her official Instagram page, the Second Lady said, “@afuaasantewaasingathon enters the final stretch of her singing marathon, I’m deeply inspired by her resilience, strength, and determination.”
“Once again, the excellence of the Ghanaian woman has been beautifully displayed.” Samira wrote.
The Second lady also applauded Ghanaians for their overwhelming support and endorsement.
“The overwhelming show of support and display of patriotism from Ghanaians is impressive and a source of great pride.” She added.
“Afua, congratulations on this great feat. May you find all the needed strength to complete this successfully.
We are proud of you.”
Meanwhile, Afua Asantewaa has expressed her appreciation to Ghanaians for the massive support.
While awaiting to be confirmed by Guinness World Record, Afua on her X post proudly said she has broken the record and set a new one.
She thanked Ghanaians for their love, dedication, motivation and prayers which, according to her, gave her strength throughout this journey.
“THIS IS WHERE I END MY JOURNEY! 126 HOURS, 52MINS. WE BROKE A RECORD AND SET A NEW ONE. IT WAS YOUR LOVE, DEDICATION, MOTIVATION AND PRAYERS THAT GAVE ME THE STRENGTH TO GET ON MY FEET EVERYTIME AND KEEP GOING FOR THIS LONG. IT WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU! THANK YOU” She wrote.
