Maratha College of Theology has celebrated its fourteenth graduation ceremony in Techiman, marking another milestone in its mission to train committed ministers and disciples of Christ.
The event which took place at the forecourt to the Techiman Bonokyempem hall saw a total of 20 students successfully completed diploma and degree programmes in Biblical studies.
In an interview with our reporter, the Director of the College, Apostle Prof. Stephen Saweri, said that Maratha College of Theology seeks to draw people closer to the Kingdom of God. He expressed concern that, although Christians make up about 60% of Ghana’s population, the teachings and character of Christ are not reflected in the daily lives of many citizens.
He lamented that the conduct of some Christians is pushing people away from the faith instead of drawing them closer.
“Today marks our fourteenth graduation since we established the school in Techiman. A total of 20 graduates have successfully completed their studies, with some receiving degrees while others earned diplomas.

“The mission of the school is to draw people closer to Christ and advance the Kingdom of God. As Christians, we should let our light shine so that others may witness the goodness of God. Sadly, many claim to be Christians, yet the lives they lead do not reflect their faith.” He stated
Apostle Prof. Stephen Saweri further disclosed that many Ghanaians are losing faith in the church because some leaders run their congregations in ways that stray from Christ’s teachings. He explains that Maratha College of Theology seeks to educate people on what it means to be a true believer and how to win souls for the Kingdom of God.
“Many people are losing faith in the church due to the way some individuals run churches in the country, which is far from the teachings of Christ. This school seeks to educate people about what is expected of true believers and how to win souls for the Kingdom of God.”
Rev Dr Bright Boahen on his part charged the graduates to remain faithful to the true teachings of the Gospel, urging them to make soul-winning their primary focus as ministers of God.
He urged the graduates to lead exemplary lives that inspire others to join the church and stand firmly against anything that hinders the progress of the Kingdom of God

“I have charged the graduates to hold fast to the true teachings of the Gospel. They should make soul-winning their primary focus, as this is the mandate of every Christian, especially ministers of God.
“Graduates should lead exemplary lives that inspire others to join the church. They must stand against any negativity that hinders the progress of the Kingdom of God. I have also urged them not to dilute the Gospel but to preach it in its fullness, fearlessly sharing the truth with others.
He also reminded graduates that their strength comes from God, urging them to remain prayerful in all their endeavors and rely on Him for guidance and protection as they step out as ministers of His Word.
“They should always remember that their strength comes from God. Therefore, they must remain prayerful in all their endeavors and rely on God for guidance and protection as they step out as ministers of His Word.”
