The Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman South, Hon. Kwaku Adjei Mensah, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and ensuring value for money after touring a number of ongoing development projects in the municipality.
The inspection exercise, which brought together the Municipal Coordinating Director, Engineers from the Assembly, some National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters, and members of the media, was aimed at assessing the progress of work and monitoring standards at various project sites.
The tour started at Fiaso, where the MCE and his team inspected a five-kilometer road project leading to the community’s refuse disposal site, as well as an ultra-modern six-unit classroom block with supporting facilities at the Fiaso M/A Cluster of Schools “C.” Contractors working on these projects pledged to complete them within schedule and according to specification.
From Fiaso, the team moved to Abreka, where a CHPS compound is being constructed to improve healthcare delivery in the area. The facility, when completed, will also serve nearby communities such as Yepemso, Kramokrom, Bregiso, Akokobenomsou, and others.
Speaking to the media, Hon. Kwaku Adjei Mensah said, “We began our inspections at Fiaso, where we inspected the construction of a five-kilometer road project, which I know that, all things being equal, the road will be completed in the next two to three weeks”
“The Municipal Assembly is constructing a six-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities at Fiaso to help improve the standard of education in the community and the municipality at large.”
He continued, “We are also constructing a CHPS compound at Abreka, which will not serve only the people of Abreka but also those in the surrounding communities such as Yepemso, Kramokrom, Bregiso, Akokobenomsou, and other communities.”

The tour concluded at the Techiman Ohene Ameyaw Park, where the Assembly is undertaking major improvement works. These include the renovation of dressing rooms and other facilities, as well as the construction of a new big hall and an office to meet the Club Licensing Board standards.
The MCE, in an interview with the media, commended the contractors for the progress made so far. He disclosed that work at the Ohene Ameyaw Park is nearing completion, with about 85% of the project completed.
“We ended the tour at the Techiman Ohene Ameyaw Park, where the Assembly is currently undertaking two projects the renovation of dressing rooms and other facilities, and the construction of a new big hall and an office to meet the Club Licensing Board standards. The works at the Ameyaw Park are 85% complete.” Hon. Kwaku Adjei Mensah revealed.
The MCE disclosed that all the ongoing projects are being financed through the Municipal Assembly’s Common Fund and the Internally Generated Fund (IGF), adding that plans are underway to expand access to clean water in rural communities.
“All these projects are being funded by the Municipal Assembly’s Common Fund. Aside from the projects we went to inspect, we are in the process of awarding ten mechanized boreholes for various communities in the municipality.” He said.
Hon. Adjei Mensah used the occasion to caution contractors against substandard work, stressing that he will personally monitor every project to ensure compliance with quality standards, regardless of political ties.
“Under my watch, I won’t tolerate shoddy works from any contractor and the projects we inspected today should tell you that I mean business so far as quality works are concerned.
“I will personally visit all the project sites to ensure that the contractors do a good job and any contractor irrespective of their political affiliation who will be found using inferior materials for the projects will be seriously dealt with in accordance with the laws of the country.” He warned.
The Techiman South MCE reaffirmed his stance on accountability, noting that all public funds must yield tangible benefits for the people of Techiman.
“Even if the contractor is from my own party, the NDC, I will make sure quality work is done. Every project must represent value for money.” He stated.
