The Techiman Akwamuhene and acting President of the Techiman Traditional Council, Nana Owusu Gyari II, has applauded the Dede Oforiwaa Memorial Foundation (DOMFO helper) for organizing the Career Excellence Awards while expressing strong approval for the award scheme.
The Career Excellence Awards, is an award scheme organized by the Domfo Foundation, a local non-profit organization to award outstanding individuals in the Bono East Region for their immense contribution towards the growth and development of the region.
Nana Owusu Gyari II, who was a guest of honor during the 2nd edition of the Career Excellence Awards which took place at the Bonokyempem Hall at the Techiman South Municipal Assembly of the Bon East Region, praised the initiative, stating that it will serve as a powerful motivator for the youth in the community to engage in meaningful ventures and strive for excellence in their respective fields.
Nana Owusu Gyari II, in an interview with the media emphasized the importance of such initiatives, noting that they provide the necessary encouragement and support for the youth to overcome obstacles and strive for excellence.
He however challenged the management of DOMFO Foundation to extend the award scheme beyond the Bono East region as he believes if the award scheme recognize and award individuals within the length and breadth of the country, it will help reduce the dependency on the government for employment as it will propel them to start a venture on their own which in turn will improve the economy of the country.
“This will help Techiman, Bono East and Ghana as a whole, if we continue with this award scheme and it becomes nationwide, it will help the youth to involve themselves in some legit business because they will do their best for them to also be recognized and as a result, the dependence on government for job will reduce and the economy will thrive.
“As a youth, you should not always wait for the government or someone to employ you, you can start something on your own, no matter how small it may be God will bless it for you to flourish.” Nana Owusu Gyare II said.
