
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has donated fresh Kente Cloths to replace the old ones which were donated to Parliament a couple of decades ago by Manhyia.
The donation was in response to the Speaker’s request during his visit to Manhyia last week.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament to start the 1st Sitting of the 3rd Meeting of the 1st Session of the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin extended his gratitude to the Asantehene for his support.
Describing him as the father of all, the Speaker of Parliament stated that Otumfuo has played a pivotal role in Ghana’s multi-party democracy.
Adding that, the Asantehene has done very well to enhance the development of the country and he has been the guide to many people in discharging their duties.
“I want to take this opportunity to appreciate the efforts and the gracious support of His Excellency, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. He has done tremendously well and he will continue to be the father of all. And we know his passion for multi-party democracy.” Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin said.
“He has been the guide to all of us, particularly somebody like me as the Speaker of the 8th and 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana.” He added.
