Not everybody believed in me from Day One – Black Stars coach

Black Stars coach, Otto Addo has indicated that he is ready for every criticism regarding his performance as the head coach of Ghana’s national team.

According to him, he doesn’t care about what people say about him or the decision of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on his position because not everybody believed in his capacity as a coach from the first day he was appointed.

Speaking in an interview ahead of their game against Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium, Otto Addo stated that he is blessed to be in that situation.

“To be honest, I don’t really care, this is my life. As a player as well, it wasn’t like everybody believed in me from Day One. I am happy and blessed to be in this situation…” He said.

“Life is always up and down. So you welcome every situation that comes your way.” Otto Addo added.

The Black Stars coach who described the game between Ghana and Comoros as crucial also expressed optimism that Ghana will win the match to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“This is a crucial game but the players and the team preparations are solid. Everything is well and our focus is to secure the three points for the nation.” He stated.
