The Managing Director of Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation (GIHOC) Distilleries Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah believes the comparison between the government of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the tenure of former president John Dramani Mahama is below the belt.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo can only be compared with the NPP government, not the NDC.
He said no government in the past can say categorically that they have done better than the NPP under the leadership of Nana Addo.
Speaking in an interview with Adubia TV monitored by Elvisanokyenews.com, Kofi Jumah highlighted some achievements by the NPP government.
He reiterated that Akufo-Addo can only compare himself with another NPP government when it comes to the NDC, they have beaten flat. It is like playing Manchester City and Antoa 11.
“If you take every aspect of our national level, break it down in terms of economic development, no government in the past can say categorically that they have done better than the NPP. If you can break it down further, it comes to agricultural production, it comes to industrial production, it comes to services, all of that no government, I say a big no.” He said.
The former Member of Parliament for the Asokwa Constituency in the Ashanti region, indicated that he is ready to face anybody who wants to challenge the current NPP government.
“Akufo Addo has to compare himself with another NPP government, the NDC is no comparison, period. Rawlings, Mills, Mahama, no comparison. I am ready to face anybody, let’s take it one by one, when it comes to roads, who has built more roads, when it comes to the cost of the road, who spent less money to build a kilometer of road. All those things, agric, who has produced more cocoa, who has produced more cassava, who has produced more orange” Kofi Jumah indicated.
“Health, who has built more hospitals, who has more hospital beds, wh0 has brought in more medicines. Culture, who has done more of our culture, every aspect. Akufo-Addo can only compare himself with another NPP government when it comes to the NDC, they have beaten flat. It is like playing Manchester City and Antoa 11. And fortunately for me, I live in a country where I believe that the majority of the people are sensible, I have respect for them.” He stressed.
