In a traditional ceremony held the palace of the Paramount Chief of Techiman, Nana Kwame Ankoma I was officially enstooled as the new dikro (chief) of Ankomakrom and its surrounding communities.

The installation ceremony was attended by some members of the Techiman Aduana royal family, some members of the Techiman Traditional Council, community leaders, and residents who gathered to witness Nana Ankoma take on the mantle of leadership for the area.

Nana Kwame Ankoma I, will preside as the dikro (chief) of Ankumkrom, Abanaaba, Tanonaafo, Nsuta Sereso all within the Techiman South Municipaity and will report directly to the Nifahene of the Traditional Traditional Area, Nana Boakye Pentemprem II.

Speaking with our reporter on behalf of Nana Boakye Pentemprem II, the Maawerehene of the Techiman Traditional Area and Techiman Koasehene, Nana Opoku Fosu Gyeabour II, urge the newly enstooled chief to to honor the trust bestowed upon him by Nana Boakye Pentemprem II and work collaborative with him to ensure the development of the communities he has been entrusted with.

“Chiefs paly a crucial role to ensure the development of Ghana and for that matter Techiman, by the grace of God, Nana Ankoma is now part of us as a chief, I will urge him to be diligent in his dealings and help develop the communities given to him by Nana Nifahene.”

“I know that with the support of his family, Nana Ankoma will not disappoint Nana Boakye Pentemprem II, the Aduana royal family and the Techiman Traditional Council”. He said

Nana Kwame Ankoma I,  expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him. “I am humbled and grateful to be chosen as the dikro for Ankomakrom and its environs. I pledge to dedicate myself to the development and progress of our communities.”

Nana Ankoma I said “cocoa farming is predominant in my communities so I will ensure that the traditional leaders and the locals collaborate in improving our cocoa farms and I have also realized that, most people farm near our water bodies and they use harmful chemicals in controlling weeds in their farms.

“These chemicals most of the times finds its way in our water bodies so I will dedicate time to enlighten my people about the negative effect of these chemicals in our water bodies and the best way in applying weedicides and pesticides.” Nana said

As the dikro, Nana Ankoma will be responsible for overseeing the traditional governance, cultural practices, and community development initiatives in the region under his jurisdiction.
