The Minority caucus in parliament has signed the book of condolence in honor of the late Prof. Ama Ata Aidoo.

The Deputy Minority Leader in parliament,  Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah who signed the book of condolence on behalf of his colleagues described her as an iconic author who contributed tremendously to the country’s education sector in various capacities.

“I signed the book of condolence on behalf of the Minority Caucus in parliament in honor of the late Prof.Ama Ata Aidoo.” The Member of Parliament of Ellembelle constituency in the Western Region tweeted.

“Prof. Ama Ata Aidoo was an iconic author, poet, academic, and politician who contributed tremendously to our education sector in various capacities”.

“Ghana has indeed lost a prominent figure who has been an inspiration to many Ghanaians. I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones. May her soul rest in eternal peace”. Part of the tweet read.

A cross section of Ghanaians, including enthusiasts of literary works, have started trooping to the W.E.B. Dubois Memorial Centre in Accra to commiserate with the family of the late renowned Ghanaian author, Professor Ama Ata Aidoo.

This followed a book of condolence opened in honour of the later Professor at WEB Dubois Memorial Centre in Accra on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, by the family.

Prof. Ama Ata Aidoo until her passing on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at age 81 was the Life Chairperson of Ghana Association of Writers annual literary festival called GAWBOFEST.
