Accra High Court presided over by Her Ladyship Justice Marie-Louise Simmons on Thursday, February 13, 2025 discharged former president of Ghana Football Association (GFA) lawyer Kwasi Nyantakyi and Abdulai Alhassan a former Northern Regional representative of the GFA after Prosecution failed to produce ace investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in Court for trial to begin.
The news has generated a lot of reactions on social media.
Some believe that the High Court ruling indicates that the law only works for the less privileged people in the country.
One user said that Kwesi Nyantakyi case is a clear definition of justice delayed is justice denied while others are also questioning the credibility of Ice Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Below are some of the social media reactions:
“So after all these years, no trial because Anas wasn’t produced in court? This just reinforces the perception that high-profile cases in Ghana often go nowhere. Justice delayed, justice denied.”
“They knew Anas won’t show his real face in court , one of his journalists was shown in public and he died that week. The laws don’t work for the rich”
“The AG or whoever is responsible to bring Anas on board failed the country, meaning Anas is his so called media house is a joke and Ghanaian should disregard anything they published”
“@Serwaa_Amihere there are too many gaps in Ghana Judiciary System. Mr. Nyantakyi should also sue Ana’s for tarnishing his image and the likes. The court to me should probe further as to why as did that to the Man.”
“The AG’s Office was supposed to present Anas and they failed to do so, anther way of saying ‘not interested’? Justice brewed in the Ghanaian pot.”
“They wanted Anas to reveal his true identity before testifying. It was all part of the plan. They knew he wouldn’t do it.”
