A Supreme Court Judge, His Lordship Issifu Omoro Tanko Amadu, on behalf of the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, Her Ladyship Getrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo has officially inaugurated an ultra-modern High Court complex in Techiman.

The new High Court complex is designed to enhance access to justice for residents of Techiman and the Bono East region at large. With its state-of-the-art facilities and modern amenities, the complex aims to streamline legal proceedings and improve the overall efficiency of the judiciary system.

The ultra-modern edifice has two court rooms and Judges chambers, 22 offices for Cashiers, Bailiffs, a docket room, ADR room, washroom for staff and court users.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including government officials, legal professionals, representatives of the Bono East Regional House Chiefs, the clergy including many others.

In his inaugural address, His Lordship Issifu Omoro Tanko Amadu emphasized the importance of making justice accessible to all members of society. The Supreme Court Judge also praised the efforts of all parties involved in the construction of the High Court complex, including the government, contractors, and local communities.

He revealed that, the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, Her Ladyship Getrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo, is committed in making justice less expensive and accessible to all, hence her continues effort in ensuring the completion and operationalization of court facilities across the country.

“Upon assumption of office as the Chief Justice of the republic, Her Ladyship the Chief Justice pledged to work tirelessly with all relevant stakeholders in making accessing to justice less expensive, thus following the foundation of her predecessors, Her Ladyship is poised in seeing to the completion and operationalization of court facilities across the country.

“In today’s global world dynamic and continues increase in our population, trades and commerce, disputes about, while championing the resolution of these disputes through alternative amicable settlement mechanism, the court continue to be mandated with volumes of cases which very often are still left unresolved even by attempts by settlement all by the mandate of legislation.

“As statistics have confirmed that, the disputes that inundate the existing court facilities have outgrown the capacity of the court and offices, it is therefore appropriate and expedience that in our advancement of justice delivery and contributing to the improvement of the welfare of the people, an additional court complex is build and operationalized.” He said.

His Lordship Issifu Omoro Tanko Amadu,  further disclosed that, the new court complex in the Bono East Regional Capital, Techiman, is a citadel of hope and testament to the power of humanity’s quest for fairness and justice.

“We are gathered here today, to witness the establishment of a pillar of justice and a citadel of hope, this court complex does not only signify the commitment of the judiciary in upholding the principles of rule of law, but also forms the bedrock of our democracy and our constitutional order.

“It is a testament to the power of humanity’s quest for fairness and justice. This court complex will see today, is a symbol of our collective aspiration as a society where justice is accessible to all, regardless of their status.” He explained
