The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that a rerun of the Kpandai Constituency Parliamentary Election will take place on Tuesday, 30th December 2025, following a ruling by the Tamale High Court.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, 10th December 2025, the Commission explained that the court, on 24th November 2025, ordered a rerun of the election within 30 days. The EC said it subsequently received formal notification from the Clerk to Parliament on 9th December 2025, confirming a vacancy in the constituency’s parliamentary seat.
According to the statement signed by Mr. Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Department, the upcoming election will involve only the three candidates who contested the 2024 Parliamentary Election in the constituency.
The EC assured the public of its readiness to conduct the rerun in line with its constitutional mandate and called on stakeholders to cooperate to ensure a smooth electoral process.
