Ghanaians have been urged to prioritize the peace of the country in the upcoming general elections on December 7 polls.
Madam Mavis Achiaa Opoku, the Municipal Director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) for the Kwadaso Municipality indicated that the peace of the country before, during, and after the December 7 general elections is very important, and therefore entreated supporters of the various political parties place the interest of Ghana ahead of their political parties.
Speaking to OTEC news reporter, Sarkodie Samuel, she entreated Ghanaians to go out of their homes to vote come December 7 to select good leaders for the country.
She made this call during a dialogue that featured three Parliamentary Candidates from the three political parties that are contesting the seat of Kwadaso, naming the NPP, NDC, and PNC, and other stakeholders including the security services, traditional leaders, Christian and Muslim leaders, and others.
The Parliamentary Candidates on the ticket of both NDC and PNC who graced the occasion pledged their commitment to peaceful elections and respect for the electoral process.
However they called on the electoral commission of Ghana to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections in the upcoming December polls.
On his part, Hon. Eric Asibbey the Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Kwadaso Constituency when given the opportunity after the program expressed confidence in the NDC for winning the upcoming elections, emphasizing that the 2024 general elections will be the first time ever the NDC will win the of seat of parliament.
He stressed that the NDC has got a lot of policies that will impact the lives of Ghanaians positively, and therefore entreated Ghanaians to vote for the former president and flagbearer of the NDC to ensure the growth and development of the country.
In less than one month, Ghanaians will go to the polls to elect their next President and Members of Parliament to steer the affairs of the country.
