The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Techiman North District, Hon. Everson Addo Donkor, through the central government of Ghana has donated hundreds of sewing machines to dressmakers, hundreds of sinks for head dressers and satirizing machines for Barbers in the district.

The NPP government believes that the Technical Vocational Education and Training Concept provides knowledge and skills in the formal, non-formal and informal learning sectors which is a crucial vehicle for social equity, inclusion and sustainable development.

At the presentation which was held at the District Assembly Hall at Tuobodom, Hon. Everton promised to develop the skills training center at the District to put their training to a better standard, and also pledged his unwavering support to the Association.

Hon. Everson said “such talents must be developed and exploited to benefit the family, society and the world at large”.

According to him, the “Technical Vocational Training and Education is essential in making the youth self-sufficient, so that they would be responsible citizens for the country.”

He pleads with other artisans who did not get some of the machines today to exercise patience as the government as measures in place to to bring other consignment of which the District Assembly will distribute to them.

The Assembly member for Tuobodom Adantase, Hon. Pomah Vida, on behalf of the assembly members in the Techiman district thanked the Hon DCE for the kind gesture and she urged all the artisans in the district to pray for him to get long life to support the district.

Some of these artisans spoke to the media their profound gratitude from the assembly through the DCE.
