The newly elected Vice President of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of Abease Traditional Area, Nana Obrempong Kru Takyi II, has expressed his confidence and readiness in resolving all chieftaincy disputes in the Bono East region within the next 4 years.
He believes that with the support of the newly elected President of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs, and that of the entire house, they will be able to issue necessary measures to resolve all disputes amicably.
Nana Obrempong Kru Takyi II, who was speaking to the media after being elected as the Vice President of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs for the next four years, said he will throw his full weight behind the newly elected President, Bassahene Nana Owusu Sakyi lll, and ensure that, his vision of resolving all chieftaincy disputes in the region and uniting them under one umbrella will come to pass.
Nana Obrempong Kru Takyi II, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and unity among the communities in the Bono East region. He believes that by resolving the chieftaincy disputes, they can create an environment that fosters cooperation and development among the people.
“There is a saying that when a man fails in life, then his wife didn’t give him the needed supported, everybody needs supports and that’s why a President has a Vice to support him.
“So as the newly elected Vice President of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs, I will fully support my President and not to challenge him, I will do my possible best to ensure that he gets all the support he will ever need from his vice in order to fulfil his dreams as the President of the association.
“During our first-ever elections, we had only 7 active paramount chiefs despite the fact that there are 19 paramountcy in the Bono East region but we now have active 14 Paramount Chiefs as members of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs.” Nana said.
He further appreciated the efforts of Friends of the Media, a media association in the Bono East region that aims to help Nananom to resolve all chieftaincy issues in the region and promote development in the region.
Nana said, the Friends of the media, has played a pivotal role in helping the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs to resolve seven out of 12 chieftaincy disputes in the region. He revealed that, the newly elected executives of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs will continue to collaborate with the Friends of the Media in resolving the remaining five chieftaincy disputes in the region.
“We are grateful to the good works of the Friends of Media, they contributed massively in resolving the chieftaincy disputes in the region, Friends of Media was very active in solving the chieftaincy dispute at Mo and we believe that they will assist the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs in resolving the remaining chieftaincy disputes in the region.
“I am with high hopes that, we will have all 19 Paramount Chiefs as members of the house during our next elections.” Nana Obrenong Kru Takyi II told the media.
The newly elected Vice President also acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead in resolving the disputes, but he remains optimistic that with the right approach and support from all stakeholders, they can achieve their goal within the given timeframe.
