Libyan side Al Ahli Benghazi have officially announced the signing of striker Albert Amoah from Asante Kotoko following their exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.
Announcing Albert Amoah’s transfer, Kotoko said “We can confirm the permanent transfer of forward Albert Amoah to Libyan side AL AHLY BENGHAZI.”
The Ghana Premier League Giants expressed their appreciation to Albert for his commitment to the team.
“Asante Kotoko is grateful to Albert for his services to the club and his achievements with us. We wish him the very best for the future.” The club wrote.
The striker is expected to bring pace, goals and experience to the Libyan side as they prepare for their domestic and continental campaigns.
Alber Amoah’s transfer has caused a lot of reactions on social media.
“Some of the decisions people in higher places take always make the masses question their competence. Fans shouldn’t expect any better continental performances from this club. They unearth good players and sell them to North Africans. Rinse and repeat for the past 2 decades.” One user said.
Another fan also wrote” What sort of disrespect to fans is that? A few hours of getting humiliated by WAC and the next update the fans got to receive from the team is that the star boy in the team at the moment has been sold to a Libyan team. The same mistakes that the previous administration was doing are what you, the current repeating now. SMH So after this, you’ll expect the fans to follow the team to the match venues to support?”
