A Non-Governmental Organization, Agrico hub on last Wednesday, 19th July, 2023 launched its accelerator program dubbed “Escape Accelerator Program”.

During the launch, stakeholders shared valuable insights on the unique needs of Techiman’s local ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of tailoring programs that cater specifically to those needs.

Speaking to the media, the C.E.O of Agrico hub, Mr. George Antwi Boasiako, said, “we are very excited to announce the official launch of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme-NEIP Accelerator in the Bono East Region”.

According to him, their goal is to empower startups with coaching and support, enabling them to scale their businesses and become investor-ready.

“The aim of the program is to look for ways to support businesses in Bono East for them to scale up, that’s they will endure economic pressures and withstand the test of time.” He said.

Mr. George explained that, “most of the time if you come to our part of the country, there are a lot of businesses but most of them are not rightly structured, they are not formalized and as a result those businesses can’t do any procurement or access any fund or grant because they lack the basics requirements so this program will help to coach such businesses to get access to the global market and improve their capital base”.

He said The Techiman Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Benjamin Gyarko, and the Municipal Assembly at large has shown tremendous support for the program, and expressed his profound gratitude for the municipality’s backing as his outfit embarks on this journey.

He disclosed that some 100 businesses have applied for the program and after a competitive recruitment process, 20 out of the 100 businesses will be selected for the program.

The C.E.O of Agrico Hub, said all those businesses that will be selected will “benefit a lot from the program as all those businesses will be guided to go through the legal process for it to get registered while Agrico Hub will bear all the cost”.

Aside from that, the selected business will get some fundings to expand their business after the program.

On his part, the Techiman Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Benjamin Gyarko, applauded Agrico hub for the immense contribution towards the economic growth of techiman and Bono East as a whole and pledged the full support of the assembly towards their programs.

According to the MCE, “the NPP led government believes in the private sector and therefore has make a lot of interventions available to support the private sector hence the reason the Municipal Assembly has partner with Agrico Hub to ensure the economic development of the Techiman South Municipality and Bono East at large “. Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko disclosed.
