2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year, Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known as Stonebwoy has clarified speculations that his latest album ‘Up & Runnin6’ was released to target GRAMMY award.
According to him, he doesn’t do music to target one thing but his music is meant to serve his fans.
He said he will not prioritize winning awards over his fans and music people.
Speaking at the ‘Up & Runnin6’ album’s release party on October 23, Stonebwoy stated that should he win the GRAMMY awards, it is the works he has already done that will earn him that prize.
“God knows my heart, if I win the GRAMMY award it is because of my hard work. I can not do music with the intention to win a particular award, my fans are my priority not award. If the award comes I will welcome it but my work is to give what is in me to the people out there.” Stonebwoy said.
Stonebwoy who is yet to win a GRAMMY award despite his efforts in the music industry earlier said it is more important to protect and honor the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) than GRAMMY.
According to him, promoting Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) is to promote the country and the Music Industry.
“I really have great respect for Ghana Music Awards and it is obvious that everybody can see the energy I put in it. Because that is the Ghana Music Awards. In as much as we want to grow out of our country in terms of height and enter into GRAMMY’s and other international awards, we have to understand that those awards are also local awards to the Americans.” Stonebwoy earlier stated in an interview with TV3.
