The Manhyia Palace has postponed the hearing of a case of invocation of the Great Oath of the Asantehene involving Ghanaian highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba’s sister.
It would be recalled that Daddy Lumba’s sister, Ernestina Akosua Bimpomaa, invoked the Great Oath of the Asantehene during a court hearing on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in a case filed by Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa, challenging who sits in as a lawfully wedded wife of the late musician.
Manhyia summoned the family to appear before the palace for resolution on Monday, November 3, 2025; however, the hearing was postponed as a result of a pending court case awaiting a verdict.
Meanwhile, a Kumasi High Court has dismissed an injunction application by Akosua Serwaa to halt the funeral rites of highlife legend Daddy Lumba and ordered all parties to file all necessary legal processes by Friday, October 31, for a Case Management Conference scheduled for November 14, which will set the stage for the main hearing, slated to begin on November 17.
The court expects the hearing to be completed by November 21, with a final judgment on the broader case expected on November 25.
