The Techiman St. Paul’s Cathedral Christian Mother’s Association has held its 50th anniversary celebrations. The association, founded in 1974, has been dedicated to serving the community and promoting Christian values.
The 50 years anniversary celebration served as an opportunity for the association to reflect on its accomplishments over the past five decades and to strengthen its beliefs. The event brought together members of the association, community leaders, and supporters to commemorate the special occasion.
The celebrations, which is under the theme, “Holistic Development of a Christian Mother in Challenging Homes, Society, and Church in the Challenging Times,” featured a lot of training on topics such as the role of a mother to ensure peace before, during and after the 2024 general elections. There were also debates between the Techiman Methodist Women Fellowship and the St. Paul’s Cathedral Christian Mother’s Association , keep fit exercise, health screening and donations to the Techiman Holy Family Children’s ward.
Throughout its history, the Techiman St. Paul’s Cathedral Christian Mother’s Association has been at the forefront of various initiatives aimed at empowering women in the society.
Speaking with our reporter, the President of the Techiman St. Paul’s Cathedral Christian Mother’s Association, Madam Catherine Manu Akoto, revealed that, they have been able to hold on to theirs goals for establishing the association since its establishment and therefore deemed it appropriate to mark their golden jubilee in a grant style.
“We meet together as one family and learn about marital issues, children upbringing, we also learn a lot about the scriptures. Our main aim of establishing this association is to train and and empower women in social, spiritual, physical, economical and psychological ways.
“We wanted to train ourselves to become good wives and mothers so that we will be useful to the society we found ourselves in and by the grace of God, we have been able to hold to our goals for the past 50 years hence our 50 years anniversary.” She said
Touching on some of the activities the association has and will undertake to mark the anniversary, Mad. Catherine Manu Akoto said, “we will undertake a lot of activities as part of our anniversary of which some has already been done, on last Friday, we had a debate with the Methodist Women Fellowship with the topic, Does Telling Your Spouse All Your Past Secrets Brings Faithfulness in Marriage?
“We shared a lot of ideas and in all, we learnt that, although sharing your past secrets is helpful, not all secrets should be shared with our spouse based on the time and situation you find yourself in. We have embarked on a keep fit exercise and will continue with our speeches and training. We also made some donations to the Children’s Ward at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.
” The NCCE Director in Techiman, Mr. Kwaku Yeboah Joseph has also educated us on our roles as mothers to promote peaceful elections and the need to avoid hate speech before, during and after the December polls.
“We also had health talk and a special speech on the theme for this anniversary which will be delivered by our spiritual director, we will have additional speeches on the power of prayer and we believe that our members and all those that will attend the speeches will learn a lot.”
She said the association its gratitude to its members, supporters, and the community for their unwavering support over the years and therefore invites all and sundry to partake in the climax of the celebrations

Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, and Member of Parliament for Techiman North, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare and many others.” She said
The Techiman St. Paul’s Cathedral Christian Mother’s Association is an affiliate of the Christian Mothers Association, a global organization dedicated to promoting Christian values and supporting vulnerable populations.
