The Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, has joined the Kintampo North Municipal Assembly and residents of Gulumpe to observe this month’s National Sanitation Day, reaffirming government’s commitment to maintaining clean and healthy communities across the region.
As part of his visit, the Regional Minister commended the active participation of community members in the clean-up exercise, urging residents to sustain the spirit of volunteerism and collective responsibility towards environmental sanitation.
Addressing the people of Gulumpe, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi acknowledged the challenges the community has faced under the curfew imposed in recent weeks.
He disclosed that following reports from the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) and his own assessments, he will engage the Minister for Interior on the possibility of reviewing or lifting the curfew soon.
“I have received positive reports about the current situation in Gulumpe. You have demonstrated cooperation and peace, and I will personally discuss with the Minister for Interior to explore lifting the curfew so that normal life can fully return to the community.”
Residents of Gulumpe expressed appreciation to the Regional Minister for his visit and pledged to maintain peace and unity while continuing to uphold the lessons learned from recent developments.
