Salaga-South MP supports Kpembe Nursing College’s breast cancer awareness initiative

The Member of Parliament for Salaga-South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has extended her continuous support to the Kpembe Nursing and Midwifery Training College with a donation of GHC 15,000 to assist the institution in organizing its Breast Cancer Awareness Program as part of this year’s Pink October celebration.

The cheque was presented on her behalf by the Salaga-South Constituency Chairman, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz, popularly known as Abotsi, during a brief ceremony held at the college premises.

Speaking at the presentation, Mr. Abdul Aziz said the gesture forms part of the MP’s broader commitment to improving education and healthcare delivery within the constituency. He explained that Hon. Zuwera remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote health awareness, particularly among women, as early detection and education are key to saving lives.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Principal, Madam Akilu Latifa, the Vice Principal of the college expressed her appreciation to Hon. Hajia Zuwera for her kind and timely support.

According to her, the MP’s contribution came as no surprise, given her long-standing record of supporting the college even before assuming office. “Hon. Hajia Zuwera has always stood by us, both in opposition and in government. Her love for education and healthcare is something we deeply admire and respect,” she said.

Madam Latifa, on behalf of the Principal, staff, and students, conveyed their profound gratitude to the MP and prayed for Allah’s continuous guidance, blessings, and protection for her as she continues to serve the people of Salaga-South with dedication.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Program forms part of efforts by the Kpembe Nursing and Midwifery Training College to educate students and the wider community on early detection, prevention, and treatment of breast cancer, aligning with the national Pink October campaign to raise awareness about women’s health.

Through this donation, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah reaffirms her commitment to promoting quality healthcare and education, and to empowering institutions that are shaping the future of Ghana’s health sector.
