The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hon. Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has broken ground for the construction of a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre of Excellence in the Savannah Region, a landmark project expected to boost skills development and create new pathways for youth empowerment in the constituency.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Ibrahimah reaffirmed her dedication to advancing education and human capital development, describing the TVET initiative as a cornerstone of her broader vision for Salaga South. She said her unwavering passion for education inspired the creation of the Brahimah Educational Fund, a personal initiative designed to ensure that no promising young person in the constituency is left behind due to financial barriers.
According to her, the fund provides scholarships, learning materials, and equipment for TVET trainees, and also supports students through exam fee coverage, startup capital for graduates, and emergency assistance for those facing unexpected setbacks.
“The Brahimah Educational Fund is my personal covenant with the youth of Salaga South. I will walk with them every step of their educational journey, breaking down barriers and opening doors of opportunity. When they succeed, Salaga South succeeds; when they rise, Salaga South rises with them.”
In addition to the TVET Centre, the MP unveiled plans for a new teacher training institution, the Kuntu Zewura Brahimah Teacher Training College, named in honor of her late father, Kuntu Zewura Brahimah, a lifelong advocate for education and public service.

She noted that the college will serve the Eastern Corridor of the Savannah Region, with a mission to train and equip competent and dedicated teachers who will strengthen Ghana’s educational foundation.
“My late father believed that education is the master key that unlocks every door to progress, strong TVET programmes and quality basic and secondary education can only thrive when we have well-trained and motivated teachers. This college will carry his legacy forward — one classroom at a time.”
Hon. Ibrahimah emphasized that the TVET Centre forms part of a larger, long-term transformation agenda aimed at expanding local economic opportunities and fostering community growth. She envisioned a future where the centre’s graduates will transition from skilled trainees to business owners and innovators driving Salaga South’s development.
“In the next five years, our young people will be running successful enterprises, in ten years, they will be employers creating jobs; and in fifteen years, they will become industry leaders and role models for the next generation. This is not a dream, it is the future we are building, starting today.”
