The Flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has vowed to hold military personnel involved in violent activities liable and responsible for their actions.
He said they have gathered information of violence activities of some unscrupulous military personnel deployed to cause mayhem in some constituencies.
In a post on X, the former President cautioned that they will be held individually liable and responsible for their actions.
“My attention has been drawn to the violent activities of some unscrupulous military personnel, deployed to cause mayhem and disrupt the declaration of parliamentary results in some constituencies.” He said.
“This is to caution the personnel involved that they will be held individually liable and responsible for their actions.” Mr. Mahama wrote.
Meanwhile, John Dramani Mahama has taken early lead in the 2024 Presidential elections.
At a press conference, the Communicator Director of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi urged party members to not jubilate but rather go to their various collation centres to protect their votes.
He said the NDC supporters should be vigilant because the possibilities that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will rig the election is higher.
“Don’t hit the streets to jubilate, voting has ended but the election has not ended. We have just started so this is not the time for NDC members to jubilate, this is not the time for you to hit the streets with songs to celebrate because we know the people we are working with. Whenever they are losing, they try to steal.” Sammy Gyamfi said.
“We have done with polling stations, moving to the Constituency Coalition Center. All NDC agents and their supporters should follow the ballot box to the Constituencies Coalition Center.”
