The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has determined to increase their votes in the Volta region in the upcoming general elections.
The Volta Regional Chairman of the NPP, Makafui Woanya assured that the NPP executives in the region will work hard to contribute their quota for the NPP to break the 8 in the December 7 polls.
He made this assurance during the inauguration of the campaign team for election 2024.
“On this occasion, I want to inform the flagbearer of our party and the National campaign team that in Volta is fully prepared and about our prospect in 2024. And as usual, Volta will contribute its quota in our national efforts to break the 8 come December 7 this year. My only concern is the timely delivery and proper channel of campaign logistics and we shall deliver our part of the campaign” Chairman Woanya assured.
The Volta region is the stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Meanwhile, the NPP National Youth Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye popularly known as Nana B urged the campaign team not to relent in their efforts in contributing to breaking the 8.
He commended the Volta regional executives for their unity, hard working and dedicated to duties.
According to him, the votes secured for the NPP in the 2020 general elections were very impressive.
He expressed optimism that if they continue with their hard work and unity, the NPP will win more seats in the volta region.
“In the Volta Region for instance, we are particularly impressed about the performance in the last election. Not only for the first time we are having a seat in the Volta region but even in terms of the votes for the presidential election we moved up. So it is our expectation that the energy in the region, the unity in the region, the hard work in the region will continue so that we even see a much more appreciation of our votes and also build on what we have done again to even get more seats in the Volta region.”
