Baba Ibrahim Bukari, the Bono East Regional NPP Chairman, has urged the youth of Techiman and Ghana at large to refrain from the intake of hard drugs.
He advised the youth to believe in their capabilities and do away with the notion that they can’t accomplish any task without the help or intake of a hard drug.
Chairman IB, as he is affectionately known, made this disclosure in a one-on-one on air interview with Rev. Nana Amakye Seih at the studios of Classic FM which was keenly monitored by Elvisanokyenews.com
He challenged the youth to use him as a case study as being the first youth to hold the position of a regional Chairman in a major political party and have the mindset that “if he has been able to achieve that fate, then they the youth can also achieve any fate without the intake of any hard drug”
“The youth should believe in themselves in whatever activity they embarked on, luckily enough, the youth have one of their own, another youth as a Regional Chairman and this is the first of its kind, I don’t know about other regions but I believe this is the first of its kind in the whole Ghana.”
“So the advice I always give to the youth is to be careful with their actions because if you don’t pay for it today, you will surely pay for it tomorrow so they shouldn’t allow themselves to be employed by the devil because that will only end them in prison. It’s not easy to have your movement restricted even for a minute so I will advise them to have a clear head in all that they do.” He said
According to him, it is very difficult to abstain from drugs if one has already ventured into it and therefore urged those who are yet to “taste drugs” not to get into that act.
“Once you start to take drugs, you will be addicted to it and it will be very difficult to stop, so I will advice the youth to stay away from drugs, if you have the notion that you can only achieve anything with the help of drug then you are mistaken, you will only be putting yourself in trouble”
Chairman IB said his message about having faith in oneself reflects the importance of self-confidence and self-belief in personal growth and success.
He encourages the youth to remain hopeful and optimistic, even in the face of challenges or setbacks as it will only remind them to stay focused, work hard, and be open to opportunities that may arise.
He said he is a youth like them and he has a lot of experience in life and the youths should take him as their role model.
