The Footballer of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards, Mohammed Kudus has commended Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Leicester City Abdul Fatawu Issahaku for his dedication and motivation in the National team and their various clubs.
Speaking at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards, Kudus indicated that he is proud of his journey and how far he has come this season.
He said Abdul Fatawu’s dedication to Football is a motivation for him and all the upcoming players.
“I have told him already but infront of everyone I want to use this opportunity to tell him how proud I am for his journey and how far he has come this season and this is a source of motivation for me and him and all the upcoming players.” Kudus said.
The West Ham United player also expressed his appreciation to his colleague for joining him to receive his award despite being nominated for the Footballer of the Year competition.
“I would like to thank Abdul Fatawu Issahaku for coming here to support me even though he is part of the nominees as well, In as much as we are competting for the awards, it is a very healthy competition and he has pushed me a lot and I have pushed him too.” Mohammed Kudus added.
Mohammed Kudus who won the Footballer of The Year Awards two consecutive times was nominated among players like Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Osman Bukarai and Inaki Williams.
“As part of the new generation, one of my aims is to increase the unity and the love between us. There have been a lot of legends here. I want to thank them because they paved the way for the young once to come this far. Our responsibilities also pave the way even clearer for the upcoming ones.” He added.
