The former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has warned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) members who are blaming former Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate for the party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for their election defeat to champion their interest in leading the party for the 2028 elections.

He said they will sit and watch people who have the ambition to lead the party to use Dr. Bawumia as scapegoat.

“Some of us will not tolerate any agenda to push the blame from our 2024 defeat on the candidature of Dr Bawumia.” Ofosu Nkansah wrote on his Facebook.

According to him, the NPP lost the election because some of their people decided not to vote.

“The election was a referendum on our 8 years in power and some of our People decided not to vote for various reasons. From the President, Vice, Ministers, Board Chairs, CEOs, Appointees and all those who had direct or indirect power or influence during the 8 years, we all may have done something which contributed to the defeat. So we won’t sit down for those who have interest in leading the party to use Dr Bawumia as scapegoat because of their ambition.” Part of the Facebook post read.

His comment comes after a group of NPP Traders in Kumasi have attempted to reject any move to bring back Dr. Bawumia as the candidate for the 2028 elections.

But Kofi Ofosu Nkansah maintained that they will resist any false narrative seeking to push the blame on Dr Bawumia.

He said that they are waiting for the Party to conduct full investigations into the cause of the defeat and not rush to blame one person.

“We will resist any false narrative seeking to push the blame on Dr Bawumia. We should all respect ourselves and wait for the Party to conduct full investigations into the cause of the defeat and not rush to blame one person.” He indicated.
