Former Finance Minister Seth Terkper’s suggestion about the Free SHS policy did not go well for some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking on TV3, Seth Terkper suggested that the Free SHS policy must be limited to day students across the country.
But the Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the NDC, Abass Nurudeen, has heavily descended on Seth Terkper saying the NDC will treat him like a hostile voice if he continues with such utterances.
According to Abass Nurudeen, the President-elect John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to improve the free SHS policy and that anybody who will contradict him (Mahama) will be dealt with.
Speaking on Oyerepa TV, the Communication Officer questioned Seth Terkper’s role in Mahama’s transitional team.
“Some of our leaders have started generating a negative mindset, and one of such leaders is Seth Terkper who has started making negative comments about the Free SHS. President John Dramani Mahama has vowed to make the policy better so where from you to say that. Are you part of the transitional team? You took us to opposition. You didn’t help any NDC member, there were vacancies but you refused to employ people.” He said.
“You gave all the lucrative contracts to Bryan Acheampong and he stood against the NDC, and if God has intervened and Mr. Mahama has come back again, why are you saying these things? The painful aspect is that he didn’t support the campaign. We want him to understand that people paid the ultimate price for this power, so we won’t sit down for some people like Seth Terkper to destroy the party.”
“We will treat him like a hostile voice if he joins Koku Anyidoho, Allotey Jacobs. So Ghanaians, what he is saying is not true, John Dramani Mahama will make the Free SHS better.” Abass Nurudeen stated.
