The head coach of Ghana’s senior national male football team, Nana Otto Addo, says the Black Stars should have won their third 2025 AFCON qualifier against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The game, which was played on last Thursday, 10th October, 2024 at the capital city of Ghana, ended in a goalless draw, leaving Ghana third on the Group F table with just two (2) points in three (3) games.
Despite the results which has left many Ghanaian frustrated, coach Otto Addo, has expressed pride in the performance of his team.
According to him, the Black Stars of Ghana, played exceptionally well in all aspects of the game  and deserved to secure a victory.

The Black Stars dominated possession and showcased impressive control throughout the match, creating numerous scoring opportunities but failed to find the back of the net.

The former interim first team assistant coach for Borussia Dortmund applauded the performance of his team with references to the defense and defensive midfield department of the team.

“I think everybody saw that we played well just we didn’t get luck, the Sudan goalkeeper did really well and a big complement to our defense,  from the goalkeeper, Ati-Zigi with the defensive line of Alidu Seidu, Salisu, Djiku, and Gideon Mensah for not allowing the opponent to take chances.

“Those chances they had we defended well and also big big complements to our defensive midfielders, Elisha Owusu was exceptional for me and also Ibrahim Sulemana.” He said

Coach Nana Otto Addo, stressed that the Black Stars controlled the game and the only thing that didn’t work for the team was their finishing and that really pains them.

“We controlled everything, the only thing which was missing was the goal, surely we will have to work on it, the chances where there but this is football sometimes it is very very difficult for us.

“The Niger game pained more and also the last game against Angola also pains us more because again we did well and there is nothing much I can say.” He told journalists.
