Bremanhene Nana Baffour Kotei Kutin Sraman II has underscored the need for Ghanaians most especially, the Ashanti region to vote massively for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 7 general elections.
He said when the flagbearer of the NDC, former president John Dramani Mahama was in power, the Ashanti region witnessed developmental projects so they should give him another chance to come and continue the legacies he left behind.
According to him, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has brought Ghanaians in a severe hardship due to bad governance.
Nana Baffour Kotei Kutin stated that they know what former president John Dramani Mahama is capable of doing when it comes to governance.
He indicated that the Ashanti Region changed drastically when the NDC was in power. He explained that Mr. Mahama and the NDC gave Ashanti region good roads, schools, hospitals and others hence, he deserves another chance.
“May God be with you and help you win the elections. Am not saying this in vain because we know what he is capable of doing, in his reign, he changed Ashanti region roads, schools, hospitals, he did a lot. Someone who is doing good job should be given the chance to continue but this current government is not performing well so we are praying that God will help him to come to power again to develop the nation” Bremanhene said this when former president John Dramani paid a courtesy call on him at his palace as pert of his Building Ghana Tour.
For his part, the former president John Dramani Mahama promised to continue the works he was doing in the Ashanti region and Ghana as a whole when voted as president in the December 7 general elections.
He explained that the aim of the tour is not to identify problems every region is facing in order to facilitate developments in the country.
According to Mr. Mahama it is required of every president to ensure that the citizens who gave him the power benefit from good policies.
“We are in the Ashanti Region for what he described as the Building Ghana Tour. We all know that this year is an election year and as the NDC does every time, we believe that if the citizens vote for you to lead the country you are voted to serve. And if you want to serve someone, you first have to identify their needs and wants in order to serve well. We did this in 2020 and we are doing it again” Mahama stated.
