Nigerian singer, David Adeleke better known as Davido has said, he will join hands with other concerned citizens of Nigeria to make the country better.
According to him, there is only one “Nigeria” so there is a need to work hard to promote the country on a global scale.
The music star reacting award conferred on him by the Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON) mentioned that “It has always been my mission to use my platform to showcase our country – the passion, the resilience, the joy, the culture and of course the struggles of our people. I do not take any of this for granted. We have one Nigeria and we will continue to do whatever we must to make it better!” He tweeted.
“Honored to hear the news that I have been conferred with an OON (Officer of the Order of Nigeria) by The Federal Government of Nigeria”.
“I am grateful for this recognition and honour. Davido, Kunle Afolayan, and 337 other notable Nigerians have been announced as recipients of the 2023 national awards.
The Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, on Sunday, announced the award in various cadres.
David Adeleke better known as Davido was awarded the Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON).
Multi-award-winning filmmaker Kunle Afolayan was also awarded the OON.
The Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON) is one of the highest civilian awards in Nigeria, recognising outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals in various fields. The significance of the OON awarded to Davido lies in the acknowledgment of his exceptional contributions to the Nigerian music industry and his efforts to promote the country on a global scale through his platform as a celebrated artist.
