The Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC), a leading incubation hub, from Friday, 21st June 2024 to Saturday, 22nd June 2024, as part of this year’s Agritech Challenge Classic, organized a 2-day workshop for young entrepreneurs who are eager to make a lasting impact on the agriculture value chain at the Ejura Agric College and Mechanization Center in the Ashanti region.
The KIC Agritech Challenge Classic aims to empower young Ghanaians, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge in Agribusiness to transform their businesses, communities, and ultimately, the nation.
The selected AgriTechies will participate in a comprehensive training program designed to enhance their understanding of cutting-edge agricultural technologies. The program will focus on topics such as Design Thinking, Agric Value Chain, Psychology of Entrepreneurship, Introduction to Agripreneurship, Agric Financial Management, Market Research Insights, Safeguarding including many others.
Mr. Ato Ulzen-Appiah, the Entrepreneurship Development Specialist at the Kosmos Innovation Center, at the end of the 2-day orientation, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming cohort. Mr. Ato Ulzen-Appiah says he believes that by investing in the growth and development of these young entrepreneurs, KIC are not only improving individual businesses but also laying the foundation for a more prosperous and sustainable future for Ghana’s agricultural sector.
“We have had the orientation for the program at the Ejura Agric College and Mechanization Center, which has gone very well and the AgriTechies are motivated.
“We learnt a lot about entrepreneurship and we are going to have a lot more sessions where the AgriTechies will be learning more on entrepreneurship, they will go on their market research tour to learn about the Agric space, they will be forming teams to work on their ideas, they will be pitching and working towards their minimum viable product.
“So we are expecting that these AgriTechies will become above average young Ghanaians, who are improving themselves and developing themselves for their businesses, for their communities and for the country as well.” He said
He disclosed that the public will have access to whatever will be happening during the 7 month program as there will be constant updates of the Classic on the KIC official website and various social media platforms.
“Please check us out at Kosmos Innovation Center on social media and you will see some of the things that will be happening throughout the program. It is great to be able to impact all these young people and work with institutions like EACMC so that we can all do better and tackle problems within the Agric value chain.” He told our reporter.
The KIC Agritech Challenge Classic is a highly competitive program that seeks to identify and nurture the most promising AgriTech entrepreneurs in Ghana. Through a combination of mentorship, training, and networking opportunities, participants will have access to a wealth of resources and expertise, empowering them to overcome challenges and seize opportunities in the dynamic AgriTech landscape.
