The bankroller and Chief Executive Officer Access Bank Division 1 side Debibi United, Alexander Ababio, , has revealed that the team is gearing up for the next season’s Division 1 league and hopes to qualify for the Premier League.
Mr. Ababio, expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to achieve this goal, stating that they are almost done with their recruitment and are preparing seriously for the upcoming season.
According to him, the team hopes to finish their recruitment by Wednesday, 3rd July, 2023 and fully concentrate on the team’s tactics and training come next season.
He further explained that negotiations are far advanced regarding some three players that they believe will complement the efforts of the team and propel them to the Premier League should they sign them.
“We have started our recruitment because I have tasked the management of the team to finish the recruitment byTuesday or Wednesday and of course, some players will also leave the team.
“I have realized that management is doing a good job in terms of player recruitment, I can say we have gotten the players we want and it’s left with only three players and we will be done with our signings for the window.
“Management is in talks with the players and negotiations are far advanced so I hope that by Wednesday, we will be done with all our signings and we will start preparing for next season, probably, we will be able to qualify for the Premier League God willing next season.” He explained
Debibi United, won 12 out of their 28 Division One League games, drew 7, lost 9, scored 42 goals and conceded 28. They finished 4th on the Division 1 zone B table with 43 points.
