Swedish professional and Sporting CP talented striker, Viktor Einar Gyökeres, has emerged as the top scorer in the world of football in 2024.
The 26 year old found the back of the net 62 times for both club and country in 2024, scoring ten (10) goals in seven (7) games for the Blue and Yellow of Sweden while scoring fifty-two (52) goals in fifty-six (56) appearances for the Lions of Sporting Clube de Portugal (Sporting CP) in the year 2024.
In the ongoing 2024-2025 football season, Viktor Gyökeres, has hit eighteen (18) goals in sixteen (16) Liga Portugal Betclic matches. The Swedish international has also netted five (5) goals in six (6) matches in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
The striker is the first player to hit more than 60 goals in a calendar year since Robert Lewandowski in 2021. The Barcelona star, who finished 2024 with 42 goals is one of only seven players to top the calendar year standings in the last 13 years.
Manchester City’s Erling Braut Haaland secured second place with 59 goals, while Al-Nassr’s Portuguese goal poacher Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro finished fourth with 43 goals.
Real Madrid’s French forward, Kylian Mbappé Lottin rounded out the top ten, placing 10th with 39 goals.
