Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Koku Anyidoho has reacted to Deputy Minority Chief Whip, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim’s comment about the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) initiative.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday July 31, 2024, launched the DRIP at the Black Star Square in Accra aimed at providing the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs) with the resources and equipment necessary to rehabilitate and maintain roads within their respective jurisdictions.
But the NDC Member of Parliament for Banda Constitutuency in an interview with OKAY FM claimed former president John Dramani Mahama started the DRIP in 2016.
“The District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) was launched by former President Mahama in July, 2016.” Ahmed Ibrahim stated.
Reacting to this, Koku Anyidoho said it is shocking to hear that the NDC is claiming the DRIP initiative.
He said the NDC is trying to say that all the NPP projects are John Mahama’s initiatives. Saying very soon they will say Mr. Mahama created the world.
“What is happening to my NDC? This is shocking!!! They are now saying that the DRIP Initiative was started by JM. In one breath, the NPP Govt is doing nothing; in another breath, all the NPP projects are JM’s projects. Soon, they will say JM created the world. Haba!” He wrote on his X.
Koku Anyidoho also attributed the NDC arguments that most of the NPP projects were started by the NDC as desperate for power.
“Desperation is NOT good ooo!!! Listen to how this JM puppet attempts to steal the DRIP Initiative for his boss but ends up indicting the policy of merging the Information & Communications Ministries. This is a BIG indictment on JM that’s why he must have a DEBATE with DMB.” He added.
Meanwhile, the NDC has said the flagship programme of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Free Senior High School (Free SHS) was started by Mr. Mahama.
