A Communications Team Member in the Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency in the Eastern Region for National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sikanery Mashood Ibrahim, has revealed that, although he is happy for the Boankra Inland Port project but until it’s completed the government deserves no praise.
Speaking on Sinopi show hosted by Obidombie Nana Acquah, monitored by Asomdwehene Philip Kwabena of Ofie Fm in Akim Oda, Sikanery Mashood Ibrahim said “You know how things are in Ghana, it’s always hard for a new government to continue the project of its predecessor, so now that they have started, they should do well to complete the project, so that it won’t be waste of state fund”.
He added, the government has assured the people that the project will be completed by next November but due to some reasons, he doesn’t really believe the timeline given until the project is completed and commissioned.
“Now, they are saying November next year not even this year that they will complete the project so even the time frame they have given, it’s likely they won’t complete it, we voted for development so if the government is doing developmental projects, it does not warrant them to come out to praise themselves, either they will be praised for the project or not, it’s for us the citizenry not the government.”
“I’m happy on the progress of the project but in this country, when we vote for a government, they use the states funds to do projects and not their personal money, if I’m not mistaking, they cut sod for the project in 2020 but up to date, they have not completed it so until they complete and commission it, I don’t see the need for me to applaud the government “. He disclosed.
