The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Tuobodom Senior High School in the Techiman North District of the Bono East region, has donated 100 mono desks to the institution.
The mono desks, which provide individual workspaces for students, were presented to the school’s administration during a brief ceremony attended by PTA members, school officials, and student representatives.
Speaking at the event, the PTA Chairman of the school, Mr. Owusu Johnson, expressed the association’s commitment to supporting the educational needs of the students.
According to him, although government have been providing the school with mono desks but the school still lacks enough desks to provide workspace for students hence their donation.
“Government have been providing the school with desks but the school population keeps on increasing at rapid speed so the desks provided by government is not enough and that is why we decided to provide these 100 mono desks which cost us GHc20,000.00.
“We plan to provide additional mono desks to the school to aid teaching and learning activities, we the Parent-Teacher Association are willing to help develop the school so we will plead with the teachers to also put in their best in educating our children
“As a PTA, we recognize the importance of providing a comfortable and conducive learning space for our students. These mono desks will go a long way in enhancing the teaching and learning activities at the school.” He said.
According to Mr. Owusu, the PTA has put in measures to construct a 12-seater water closet in the school and also construct a befitting fencing for the school.
On behalf of the school’s Headmaster, the Assistant headmaster of Academics, Mr. Samuel Wianaa, commended the PTA for the generous donation, stating that it will significantly improve the learning experience for the students.
“We are grateful to the PTA for this thoughtful contribution. These mono desks will create a more organized and efficient classroom environment, allowing our students to focus on their studies and achieve their full potential.” He said
Mr. Wianaa, is of the view that, with effective collaboration between the school’s authority and PTA, the school can achieve massive success in terms of education and other extracurricular activities.
The donation of the mono desks is part of the PTA’s ongoing efforts to collaborate with the school administration and address the institution’s infrastructure and resource needs. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the academic performance and overall well-being of the students at Tuobodom Senior High School.
