Ghanaian anglophone hip-hop and Afrobeat musician and entrepreneur, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, known by his stage name D-Black has lamented over the current state of Ghana’s economy.

D-Black said the current state of the country’s economy is the lowest he has ever seen.

“This is the lowest I’ve ever seen the state of our country’s economy.” D-Black said.

According to him, the unemployment rate is too high and the cost of goods and services are rising every day which makes life unbearable for the citizens.

D-Black indicated that the depreciation of the Cedi is alarming and the complaints from the citizens are getting out of hand.

“No jobs for the youth. Entrepreneurs are going thru it! Costs of goods and services keep rising. The Cedi keeps depreciating at an alarming rate. Soo much isn’t going well.. The People are complaining… Mehn” He added.

D-Black is not only a celebrity who has raised concerns over the economic hardship in the country.

A lot of Ghanaians including the members of the ruling government New Patriotic Party (NPP) but the leaders have justified the hardship in the country.

D-Black recently came to the news when he was linked to the marital problem of Ghanaian hip hop musician Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal and Ghanaian actress and a philanthropist, Fella Precious Makafui.

D-Black was accused of passing a cigar to Fella Makafui at a club but the musician later denied the claims.

According to him, he did not pass anything to Fella but the actress rather asked him to help her light her own cigar she bought.

“What pass? She asked me to help light her own cigar she bought. I was holding mine in my hand. Which pass? You people just talk by heart” D-Black wrote.
