Former United States of America president, Barack Obama has criticized Donald Trump for selling Bibles.
According to him, the former US president and the 2024 presidential candidate for the Republican is selling the “God Bless the USA Bible,” for his selfish interest.
Obama, who described the businessman’s move to partner with Lee Greenwood to sell the branded Bibles as crazy, called on the Americans to vote against Trump.
He said Trump is doing that for his parochial interest and doesn’t think about the people.
“You’ve got the tweet in all caps, that the rating and the raving about crazy conspiracy theories that the two hours speeches would sell it, just you know, it’s like Fidel Castro, just on and on. Constant attempt to sell you stuff. Who does that? Selling you gold sneakers and a $100,000 watch and most recently, a Trump Bible.” Obama said.
“He wants you to buy the word of God, Donald Trump edition. Got his name right there, next to Matthew and Luke. I mean, you could not make this stuff up, if you saw this on Saturday night live, you would say well ……. I meant that is going too far. No, he is doing that. It’s crazy. And the reason he does it is because all he cares about is his ego and his money and his status. He is not thinking about you.” He fumed.
It is alleged that Donald Trump made $300,000 (£273,000) from branded bibles.
Obama maintained that Trump thinks about himself alone and doesn’t have good plans for the people.
“What I cannot understand is why anybody would think that Donald Trump will shake things up in a way that is good for you. Pennselvania, I don’t understand that.”
“Because there is absolutely no evidence that this man thinks about anybody but himself. I have said it before that Donald Trump is a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago.” Obama stated.
