The Head of Communications at the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, has stated that there is still work to be done to improve the nature of the pitch at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium ahead of Ghana’s upcoming game against Angola.
According to Twum, the association has received numerous reports concerning the progress of the renovation work at the stadium.
He that the association is committed to ensuring that the stadium meets international standards and provides a comfortable and safe environment for players and spectators alike and hopes the players will adapt quickly ahead of Ghana’s first AFCON qualifier against Angola on Thursday.
“Per reports, there are still some works to be done, John Paintsil was here for a number of days, he has send his report to his report, we had a meeting last night at Accra, the coach is still concern.
“Let’s hope that no matter what it is, no matter the condition and situation, the boys will adapt quickly and prepare for the game.” He said
Henry Asante Twum, ceased the occasion to call on the people of Kumasi and Ghana at large to show up in their numbers to support the Black Stars of Ghana to victory.
“We always receives a warm reception at Kumasi, the people in the Ashanti region, always support us both physically and spiritually and we don’t think that will change this time around.
“We pray for the supporters to continue supporting us, we have and will never take their support for granted so we plead with them to show up and their numbers and propel the team victory so that we can start our AFCON qualifiers on a good note.
“Angola is a good team, about 75 people are on their delegation list and clearly, they are determined to give us a very tough game but we are also ready for them and we will need the supporters to show up in their numbers.” He said
