Brother of entrepreneur, Ghanaian journalist, mother who attempted the Guinness World Record of longest singing by an individual, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has revealed that the journey of his sister was very tough.
According to Afra The Voice, the timing and preparation towards the sing – a – thon journey was very littles.
“The journey honestly has not been easy, we have not had a single sleep but we are optimistic that she will break the record and set a new one” He said.
Adding that they received the email to contest the competition very shortly which made the organization very tough.
“From the time we had the email to contest or have this attempt was a short period for us to do all these things.This attempt was organized within a week, so you can imagine the pressure, there was no really a much training for her to be able to go through all these, so it was rough but we sailed through” Afra The Voice stated.
Afua Asantewaa Aduonum ended her journey with 126 hours, 52 minutes.
The six days journey of Afua started from December 24, at the Akwaaba Village in Accra.
Touching on her expectations after the 126 hours, 52 minutes journey, Afra The Voice mentioned that he wants the officials of Guinness World Record to do the needful.
“We are expecting nothing but the best to come from them because we all know the number of hours Asantewaa sang for and the current Record holder did 105 hours, she has done 126 hours, we have already won the battle so we are just waiting for the formality to be done” He added.
Meanwhile, Afua Asantewaa has expressed her appreciation to Ghanaians for the massive support.
While awaiting to be confirmed by Guinness World Record, Afua on her X post proudly said she has broken the record and set a new one.
She thanked Ghanaians for their love, dedication, motivation and prayers which, according to her, gave her strength throughout this journey.
“THIS IS WHERE I END MY JOURNEY! 126 HOURS, 52MINS. WE BROKE A RECORD AND SET A NEW ONE. IT WAS YOUR LOVE, DEDICATION, MOTIVATION AND PRAYERS THAT GAVE ME THE STRENGTH TO GET ON MY FEET EVERYTIME AND KEEP GOING FOR THIS LONG. IT WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU! THANK YOU” She wrote.
