Deputy Minister of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Mark Okraku-Mantey has lamented how entertainment pundits and babies in the creative arts industry take advantage to speak ill to veterans claiming they are advising them.

He said for a beginner to advise a veteran indicates that they don’t appreciate their long term achievements.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Okraku Mantey stated that the trend where beginners and advising the veterans must change because the veterans serve as role models to the critics role module.

“But in Ghana, the creative industry, you see somebody who has done one job advising Okraku Mantey with 8-year-album achievements. Yeah, it is the beginners who are advising the veterans, why? It must change. I am a role model to your role model, so if you have not done any project in the Art, how will you appreciate my work? But you have been given the microphone to advise me, to advise Shatta Wale, to advise Stonebwoy, are you sure you appreciate their work.” He said.

According to him, it is worthy to watch football legends like Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah, Osei Kufuor and others giving a deep analysis on how a match should have been played because they have experiences.

“When we go and play football, especially Super Sports, I am not good at Football but you will see that Osei Kufuor, Abedi Pele, the veterans are the ones talking about how the matches should have gone or the techniques in the matches. So everybody is interested in listening to Tony Yeboah, Abedi Pele.” Okraku Mantey stated.

He attributed the ill behaviour where babies are advising their elders to comments made by the member of the Communication team of the NDC, Dela Edem about former president John Agyekum Kufuor.

The Deputy Minister said it is hard time Ghanaians end that attitude.
