The Techiman Dagaaba Youth Association (TDYA) has called for calm, peace and unity in Techiman and it’s environ.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, 10th December, 2024, the Vice President of the Association, Dr. Emmanuel Aleser, says his outfit is committed in fostering development in Techiman and it’s environ and therefore calls for peace in the metropolis and Ghana at large amidst the rising tensions in the country.
“As a youth-driven association, we are committed to fostering development and harmony in our community,we are deeply concerned about rising tensions and fears of violence that threaten the fabric of our society.
“Elections are a cornerstone of democracy,and the outcome should reflect the collective will of the people.
“While we acknowledge that emotions may run high during this period,we urge all stakeholders,especially the youth,to refrain from any acts of violence, provocation,or confrontation.” He said
The Techiman Dagaaba Youth Association is a group of young people dedicated to promoting peace and unity in their community as well as promoting the rich culture of the Dagaaba people in Techiman.
Dr. Emmanuel Aleser, says it is important for everyone to come together and work towards a common goal, rather than engaging in divisive and violent behavior since the development of Techiman and Ghana at large, depends on a peaceful environment.
“The development of Techiman and the entire country depends on a peaceful environment.
“Violence only breeds division and slows our collective progress. Let us choose dialogue and mutual respect over conflict.
The Vice President of the Association, urged all parties to remain calm and peaceful as the results of the Techiman South Parliamentary elections are awaited.
The Techiman Dagaaba Youth Association, in the press conference, called on all the youth within the Techiman South constituency to embrace the country’s shared values of love, tolerance, and respect.
“Our strength lies in our ability to live and work together as one people, regardless of our political affiliations, ethnic, backgrounds, or religious beliefs.
“TDYA urges all youth to embrace our shared values of love,tolerance,and respect.
“The youth are the future leaders of our community andnation.We must reject any calls to engage in destructive activities.Protectinglives and property is our shared responsibility.” Dr. Emmanuel Aleser said.
